Start and stop a Beacon
Start sharing your location before you head out, and stop when you’re back. Beacon also stops on its own at the end time.
Start
- In the Me tab, tap at the top right. Under TOOLS, tap Beacon.
- Under SHARING, tap Add people and choose who can see it. You can also add people after you start.
- Tap Start Beacon. Read Before you start, then tap Start Beacon again.
- Allow notifications and location if your phone asks. Rijjin shows
“Beacon is on.”
The settings above the button are ready for most outings: an update every 10 minutes, for one day. Change them before you tap Start Beacon if you need to.
Stop
- Open the Beacon screen: tap Beacon on on the Home tab, or go to Me, then Settings, then Beacon.
- Tap Stop Beacon, then Stop Beacon again to confirm.
People stop seeing your location. With Latest point only, your latest location is deleted. To share again, start a new Beacon.
Pause, or change the end time
- Tap Pause to stop sending for a while. People see where you were when you paused. Tap Resume to carry on.
- To change when it ends, tap Change end time on the Beacon screen.
- An hour before it ends, Rijjin notifies you, with Change end time, Pause and Stop.
If it doesn’t work
- Location access is off: tap Open Settings and allow location for Rijjin.
“You're offline. Connect to the internet and try again.”
Starting a Beacon needs a connection. Pausing and stopping don’t.“You already have a Beacon on.”
Only one Beacon can be on at a time.
